Junior School
Welcome to St Gregory's College Junior School (K-6)
The Junior School at St Gregory's College is an exciting opportunity for the College, allowing us to establish a co-educational school catering for Years K-6 that will develop active processes of learning that focus on developing a child’s interests and curiosity as they engage with the world around them.
We will work to develop learning experiences for students that are rich, challenging and rewarding. We need to be able to develop our students so that they can think critically, communicate effectively, express ideas creatively and work collaboratively because we are living a world that is changing at a rapid pace. The structure of the school would allow for areas where students can work, collaborate and learn together.
This being accomplished within a Marist family environment with the words of St Marcellin Champagnat at its core: “To educate children, first you must love them equally”. Champagnat believed that the personal relationship between teacher and student was vital, so he encouraged maximum presence of teachers in the lives of the young.
The five defining elements, which give a Marist school its distinctive values and culture, are:
· Family Spirit
· A Love of Work
· Simplicity
· Presence
· In the Way of Mary
