Musical
Musicals have been an important part of the co-curricular life of the College for a number of years now. Since 1997 an annual musical has been staged alternately at our College and St Patrick’s College Campbelltown. Over this time a wide range of material has been presented. Notable Musicals such as “Pirates of Penzance”, “Ned Kelly”, “Back to the 80s” are familiar titles. The College performed "I Love Movies" in 2011 and "Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat" in 2013.
Anything up to 100 students and 20 teachers may be involved at any one time. Musicals present a great opportunity for boys to develop aspects of their personality. Teachers also benefit from the chance to be involved. Some of the areas are listed below show the many areas that are showcased:
•Singing
•Acting
•Dancing
•Team work
•Building confidence
•Meeting and collaborating with girls
•Chance to be involved in music even though they may be not studying music in class
•Collaboration with peers from different year groups
•Backstage, Painting sets, Sound system, Assistant Stage manager etc
The College Band have provided all the music in the Musicals since 2011.
For 2015, "Grease" the school version was staged and received many accolades on the professionalism and entertaining aspects of this well known musical.
