Since 1997 an annual musical has been staged alternately at our College and St Patrick’s College Campbelltown.

In recent years, we have hosted several popular musicals. These include “Grease” in 2015, “Beauty and the Beast” in 2017 and “High School Musical” in 2019. These productions received many accolades on the professionalism and entertainment aspects.

Over time, a wider range of material has been presented. Notable musicals include “Pirates of Penzance”, “Back to the 80s” and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Each performance has allowed St Gregory’s College and St Patrick’s College to combine forces and develop our students’ skills, resulting in fun and engaging productions for our communities.

Anything up to 100 students and 20 teachers may be involved at any one time. Musicals present a great opportunity for students to develop aspects of their personality and performance skills. Listed below are some of the many skills students will enhance:

  • Acting
  • Singing
  • Dancing
  • Teamwork
  • Building confidence
  • Meeting and collaborating with girls
  • Collaboration with peers from different year groups
  • Backstage, set development and sound system production
  • A chance to be involved in music even though they may not be studying music in class. Members of the College Band have been involved in the music for all our productions since 2011.
