Teaching & Learning
At St Gregory’s, we believe that students must take responsibility for their learning if they are to be successful. Students are encouraged to see learning as a life-long process and something that enriches their life. As a boys only school we are very aware of the research showing boys learn differently to girls. Our strategies in teaching and learning help our boys to succeed in their academic studies and our HSC results consistently shows this specialisation pays benefits for our students.
Our focus as teachers is to:
- Challenge our students to reach their academic potential
- Develop students as well-informed and independent thinkers
- Provide high quality lessons with a focus on literacy
- Equip students with the skills necessary for the world beyond school such as working with other and working with technology
The College is non-selective in its enrolment process and caters for all learning ability levels through the provision of a diverse curriculum. Students can choose from a wide range of electives in Years 9 and 10 while those in Years 11 and 12 can choose to complete an academic programme, a blended programme or a vocational programme for their Higher School Certificate. Further details of the College’s curriculum offerings can be found here.
